Responsibilities
Perform technical tree climbing, pruning, and removals
Conduct jobsite hazard assessments and follow safe work procedures
Utilize rigging systems for controlled limb and trunk lowering
Communicate effectively with ground crew and leadership
Maintain equipment, ropes, and climbing gear
Provide exceptional service and uphold company safety standards
Industry Standard Requirements for a Technical Climber
ISA Certified Arborist or ISA Certified Climber Specialist required
Minimum 3 years of professional climbing experience
Proficiency in rope and saddle climbing systems
Strong understanding of tree biology, structural defects, and hazard identification
Experience performing technical removals and pruning in confined or hazardous environments
Knowledge of ANSI Z133 and industry best practices
Ability to work at heights in varying weather conditions
Physically fit with the ability to lift 50–75 lbs
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (Air Brake endorsement an asset)
First Aid Level 1 or higher (or willingness to obtain)
